The big day is finally in the works, and you’re ready to plan your engagement shoot. Your outfit is an important part of it all, but no need to over-stress about it! Here are some tips to put together stunning outfits for you and your fiancé’s engagement shoot!

  1. Match without actually matching! Make sure your outfit color coordinates with each other & doesn’t clash. Stick to a color palette of three or four coordinating colors!
  2. Buy a new outfit! Engagement shoots are a memory, buy yourself and your fiancé a new outfit for the occasion so that you can connect it with your memory of the special day. I always recommend my clients buying something new that has no memories attached if they can so that it is unique to the event!
  3. Wear what makes YOU feel confident. This will give you more confidence to truly be yourself in the shoot.
  4. Consider how flexible you can be in your outfit! If you are planning to wear a super short skirt you can barely walk in, it will limit the kinds of poses we can do. Focus on clothing you can easily move around in.
  5. When in doubt, WEAR NEUTRAL! Neutrals look good in EVERY location. It will make you look like you came straight out of a magazine, trust me on this one!
  6. Avoid loud colors and patterns. If you decide a lot of color or loud patterns is totally your thing, choose a neutral location! Some great locations for this include the beach or a scenic rooftop.
  7. You are going to get dirty, so be prepared to get your outfit dirty. I love shooting in a style withs lots of unique posing & prompts, so don’t wear something that you are attached to and wouldn’t want to get dirty.
