The big day is finally in the works, and you’re ready to plan your engagement shoot. Your outfit is an important part of it all, but no need to over-stress about it! Here are some tips to put together stunning outfits for you and your fiancé’s engagement shoot!
- Match without actually matching! Make sure your outfit color coordinates with each other & doesn’t clash. Stick to a color palette of three or four coordinating colors!
- Buy a new outfit! Engagement shoots are a memory, buy yourself and your fiancé a new outfit for the occasion so that you can connect it with your memory of the special day. I always recommend my clients buying something new that has no memories attached if they can so that it is unique to the event!
- Wear what makes YOU feel confident. This will give you more confidence to truly be yourself in the shoot.
- Consider how flexible you can be in your outfit! If you are planning to wear a super short skirt you can barely walk in, it will limit the kinds of poses we can do. Focus on clothing you can easily move around in.
- When in doubt, WEAR NEUTRAL! Neutrals look good in EVERY location. It will make you look like you came straight out of a magazine, trust me on this one!
- Avoid loud colors and patterns. If you decide a lot of color or loud patterns is totally your thing, choose a neutral location! Some great locations for this include the beach or a scenic rooftop.
- You are going to get dirty, so be prepared to get your outfit dirty. I love shooting in a style withs lots of unique posing & prompts, so don’t wear something that you are attached to and wouldn’t want to get dirty.
