The importance of creative shoots!
As a wedding photographer primarily you tend to get in a routine of shooting! You have your list and you go through the steps that you do at most weddings. You can lose your “spark” if you start to get in the same ole shooting routine. Sound familiar?
Everybody’s goal is to always shoot really extravagant weddings with super unique colors, dresses, spunky couples, etc! Things you see in Green Wedding Shoes, Junebug Weddings, or Wedding Pioneer. OR even better become a traveling photographer that gets to shoot DREAM elopements in DREAM locations. So, what do we do in the meantime while we wait for these crazy cool couples to come knocking on our door? Lay in your room stalking adventure photographers? Nope!
Get out there! Use your creative thinking (probably the reason you got into photography in the first place) Begin styling shoots that would make you happy & you are able to stretch your creativity & push your boundaries. I recently did a photo shoot in a location I typically wouldn’t shoot at, with a “theme” (which I normally never do!) and LOVED it. I feel so inspired to continue pushing my boundaries and creative limits as a photographer.
If you are a photographer I challenge you to do the same! Check out some of the fun images we shot did at this film inspired photo shoot in a freaking tennis court! (cool right?)
